Following in her mentor's footsteps, Dr. Helena takes care of people with various health issues that are willing to travel for care.  Cranial adjusting isn't very common around the globe but has amazing results.  People search out Dr. Helena when they haven't received answers elsewhere.  When people come from afar, depending on the amount of time they can spend and their medical issues, Dr. Helena creates a custom, and extremely intensive plan for their healing.  Dr. Helena works closely with those that reach out even prior to their arrival. It is crucial that they are willing to do what it takes to get results and to complete what Dr. Helena lays out for their care.  Healing can be difficult, but with Dr. Helena's expertise and custom care, you will have an experience like no other.

I traveled to Dr. Helena from Virginia for a two-week CATS intensive as a “last chance” effort to help my headaches, sleep problems, and breathing restrictions. I had a history of head trauma but no neurologist, cranio-sacral therapist, etc. had been able to help me beyond temporary improvements. By my mid-30s, I was on anti-seizure and anti-Parkinson's medication to calm the headaches and sleep movement disorder, but I still felt physically awful. From the first cranial bone shift with CATS, I felt an intense relaxation unlike anything I had ever experienced before. Moving cranial bones around sounds scary, but I always felt safe with Dr. Helena and I really enjoyed the adjustments and their sensations of expansion, tension release, and warmth. I had no headaches and slept well my entire time in Michigan. When Dr. Helena started nasal adjustments on my third day, I could instantly breathe better. I can’t imagine that the nasal valve reconstruction surgery that had recently been recommended for me would have provided a better outcome. When I first got home, all I wanted to do was sleep.  Dr. Helena explained that was my body allowing itself to heal.  I started to feel occipital tension creeping up so Dr. Helena suggested I see my "home" Chiropractor regularly to help maintain the results I received with CATS adjusting.  I started going for spinal adjustments twice per week which helped loosened things. By about one month after seeing Dr. Helena, my daytime energy picked up, and I was still sleeping well at night! The occipital tightness is now totally gone.  The headaches are gone and I'm off my medications. I will continue my Chiropractic care in between visits in Michigan with Dr. Helena.  CATS was the final, major piece of the puzzle. I feel so different now that writing this seems like talking about someone else's life. I am so, so grateful for Dr. Helena and CATS! - Ashley

I played basketball in college. Like many athletes who participate in a contact sport, I sustained several concussions. It was at a time when science did not know the long-term effects of concussions. Twenty years after my basketball career I began to experience memory loss, speech delay, difficulty concentrating, and mood swings. I saw several doctors to no avail, only to be diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome. Then I met with Dr. Helena and learned about chiropractic cranial adjustments.  At first the notion of someone manipulating the bones in my head was rather daunting. However, after speaking with Dr. Helena I could sense that not only was she an expert in cranial; she was passionate about how cranial could alleviate post-concussion syndrome symptoms. So, between the science and the trust I developed in Dr. Helena, I began receiving cranial adjustments. The results were amazing to say the least. Today my memory is better than it was pre-concussions, as well as my concentration. My speech has greatly improved within the past year and my mood swings are nonexistent. Chiropractic cranial adjustments and Dr. Helena have changed my life for the better.  If you or someone you know is an athlete in a contact sport, I would highly recommend you see Dr. Helena for a consult even if you have no symptoms. After all, our brain is our most precious organ, so don’t delay.  Your head will thank you in the future! -Jen G.
